Supermarket Morrisons launches music festival

MFest will feature Matt Cardle, Cher Lloyd and, er, chef Aldo Zilli

Supermarket chain Morrisons will hold its own food and music festival this summer.

MFest will take place at Harwood House, Leeds from July 7-8 according to Eventmagazine, and will feature performances from the likes of Inspiral Carpets, The Human League, Bob Geldof, former Sex Pistols bassist Glen Matlock and ex-Beautiful South and Housemartins’ singer Paul Heaton. Celebrity chefs Aldo Zilli and Atul Kocchar, meanwhile, will also be on-site to provide cooking demonstrations.

Richard Hodgson, Morrisons Group Commercial Director, said: “MFEST will be a unique addition to the festival market with not only a glittering array of entertainment for all ages, but a brand new, reinterpretation of festival food: from fantastic gourmet meals, to on-the-go treats, to live demos and interactive stalls for everyone to get involved and get creative.”

Commercial Director Jonathan Gillespie said: “The nation is looking forward to a summer of celebration and so we are delighted to be involved in a brand new festival that promises to be one of its highlights.”
