Slash, Bret Michaels, Nikki Sixx pay tribute to Jani Lane

Former Warrant frontman passed away yesterday (August 11)

Slash, Poison frontman Brett Michaels and Skid Row singer Sebastian Bach have been among those to pay tribute to former Warrant frontman Jani Lane.

Lane‘s body was found yesterday (August 11) in a Comfort Inn motel room in the Woodland Hills area of California, near Los Angeles. No cause of death has yet been established.

Slash wrote on his Twitter page of the singer: “Just heard about Jani Lane. What a shame. RIP man.”

He was joined in paying tribute to Lane by Poison singer Bret Michaels, who wrote: “We’d like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of Jani Lane regarding their loss. Respectfully.” Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx also paid tribute, writing: “I just heard the sad news about Jani Lane. So hard to swallow when people have kids. RIP.”

Hatebreed frontman Jamey Jasta also offered his condolences, he wrote: “Sad news about Jani Lane. 47 is too young to go”, while Steel Panther‘s Michael Starr wrote “It truly saddens me to lose Jani Lane. You were my inspiration for what I love to do: Rock.” Skid Row singer Sebastian Bach simply wrote: “RIP Jani Lane.”

Fozzy frontman Chris Jericho also paid his respects, he wrote: “Sad to hear about the passing of Jani Lane. Jani was a good guy and one of the best songwriters in the late 80s.” Guns N’ Roses guitarist DJ Ashba also paid tribute, he wrote: ” It’s sad that sometimes it takes someone you know to lose their life to put yours into perspective, Jani Lane RIP.”
