‘Inception’ wins Best Film at Shockwaves NME Awards 2011

Movie voted ahead of 'The Social Network' and 'Get Him To The Greek'

Inception has been voted Best Film of the past year at the Shockwaves NME Awards 2011.

The Leonardo DiCaprio-starring film beat the likes of Get Him To The Greek, Kick-Ass, Scott Pilgrim vs The World and The Social Network, which were also nominated.

The announcement was made at the ceremony at London‘s O2 Academy Brixton tonight (February 23).

Last year the award was won by Quentin Tarantino‘s Inglourious Basterds.

The NME Awards Big Gig takes place on Friday (25). Godlike Genius Dave Grohl‘s band Foo Fighters headline, with Cee Lo Green, Band Of Horses and No Age also on the bill.
