’24’ actor Kiefer Sutherland is releasing a folk album

'It's the closest thing I've ever had to a journal or diary,' actor says

Actor Kiefer Sutherland is set to release an album of original music, with his “folk-tinged” debut album coming this summer.

The former 24 star has announced details of the record, titled ‘Down In A Hole’. The Wrap reports that the album will be released this summer.

Sutherland said of the record: “It’s the closest thing I’ve ever had to a journal or diary. There is something very satisfying about being able to look back on my own life, good times and bad, and express those sentiments in music.”

“As much as I have enjoyed the writing and recording process, I am experiencing great joy now being able to play these songs to a live audience, which was something I hadn’t counted on,” he added.

Sutherland founded the Ironworks record label with singer-songwriter Jude Cole in 2009. His new album is expected to be released on said label.

The actor/musician will head on a North American tour in April, which runs through to the end of May.

Sutherland is best known for portraying lead character Jack Bauer in 24. He also appeared in 1987’s The Lost Boys, as well as Phone Booth and Melancholia.
