ANOHNI enlists Naomi Campbell for ‘Drone Bomb Me’ video, talks gender identity – watch

The musician appeared on French TV show 'Le Grande Journal'

ANOHNI, the artist formerly known as Antony & The Johnsons, has shared a new video for her track ‘Drone Bomb Me’, which features British supermodel Naomi Campbell.

The track, which is taken from forthcoming album ‘HOPELESSNESS’, was premiered on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show this evening (March 9). The full record is due out through Rough Trade on May 6.

Campbell stars in the video, lip syncing to the song in a smoky room. You can watch the video below, via Pitchfork.

ANOHNI also recently appeared on French TV show Le Grande Journal, where she discussed gender and identity.

“I’ve always been transgender and I always will be,” she said. “Having said that, my spirit is feminine. If you had to divide humanity into two groups, I would sit with the women.”

“I think one of the interesting things about the last few decades of transgender experience is that people have been experimenting with the way biology affects gender. Whereas in the past people have seen the two sexes as almost incomprehensibly different, now there is a group of people that are explaining the connections between both the genders, literally in the way their biology informs some of their expression.”
