London ‘supergig’ for Japan relief effort set for next month

Wembley Arena is likely venue for April show

A huge multi-act gig is set to take place in London next month to raise money for the relief effort in Japan.

No acts have been announced for the gig yet, but it is believed that Wembley Arena is the likely venue for it, reports The Sun.

Promoters Live Nation are organising the event and are talking to bosses at the Sony and Universal record labels about getting some of their acts involved.

The ‘supergig’ will be screened live in the UK on BBC TV and in the US. A source is quoted as saying that the promoters are expecting a “massive response from acts of all eras.”

Meanwhile, Adele, John Lennon and Foo Fighters are among the acts featured on a new ‘Songs For Japan’ album that’s raising money for the relief effort in the country.

Plus Beady Eye, Primal Scream, Graham Coxon, Paul Weller and more are set to for a benefit gig for victims of the natural disasters, also in London next month.
