Another stage is announced for this year's event

Shooting Stars scoremaster Angelos Epithemiou, creation of comic Dan Renton Skinner, is set to play a comedy set at this year’s Reading And Leeds Festivals.

The ex-burger van owner will play a set on the Alternative Stage on the sites – in Leeds on the Saturday (August 28) and Reading the day after.

Comics Milton Jones, Tom Deacon, Martin Mor and Andrew O’Neill have also been added to the Alternative Stage line-up, as have Steve Gribbin, Mark Oliver, Stephen Grant, Josh Widdicombe, Brian Gittins and Barry Castagnola.

Meanwhile, the BBC Introducing stage will be taken over by the Dance To The Radio label on the Leeds site for the Thursday night, before the festival officially kicks off. Gaggle, Slow Club, Everything Everything and Egyptian Hip Hop are among the acts who will play.

Those bands, plus Chew Lips, and DJs including Two Door Cinema Club and Pulled Apart By Horses members will play on the Trangressive Records-curated bill on the Alternative Stage on the Sunday night at Leeds into the early hours.

Also, the Relentless Energy Stage will host bands nightly on the Leeds site, with acts including Crystal Fighters, Goldierocks and Drums Of Death playing live or DJing.

Festival organisers have also announced the revamping of the Silent Arena, a silent disco taking place after the bands have finished. DJs including Steve Lamacq, Huw Stephens and Bethan Elfyn will man the decks.

Other new announcements are the presence of the SEAT Human Car Wash, located in the Village area, where fans can get hosed down and dried off.

Meanwhile, Gaymers Cider are set to host a Lost In The Orchard area at the Leeds site, featuring live acts and DJs including Connan Mockasin and Skinny Lister.
