Flowerpot promoters ‘forced out’ of London venue

Lease for Kentish Town building sold

North London‘s Flowerpot venue is set to close, its current promoters have announced.

Bands including Mona and The Vaccines have played shows there this year, while the likes of The Drums and Adam Green have played free gigs there in the past.

According to the Flowerpot‘s promoters Twitter, the lease for the Kentish Town building has been sold, forcing them to relocate.

“We’re completed gutted to inform you that from November 1 The Flowerpot will no longer be at this venue,” they wrote. “We’ve basically been scammed, and after building a successful venue from scratch the lease has been sold from beneath our feet.”

They did, however, vow to continue at a new location.

“We will of course be taking everything and everyone with us when we go and promise to find a new HQ quicker than you can say Jager Bomb,” they wrote.

Meanwhile the Flowerpot‘s promoters are hosting a New Year’s Eve event at the HMV Forum, with Foals set to headline. The show is still set to go ahead.
