Slayer postpone European tour

Veteran metal band reschedule gigs for spring 2010

Slayer have been forced to pull their forthcoming European tour after bassist Tom Araya suffered a back injury.

The veteran metal band had been due to kick off a six-date jaunt of the UK at Nottingham Rock City on November 18 before heading on for several dates in Europe. Araya‘s injury has forced the band to postpone their tour until March 2010.

A spokesman for the band said: “It is with immense disappointment that Slayer must postpone its UK and European tour. Tom Araya has been under the care of a specialist for a back injury, and while he has already made substantial improvement, he is continuing on with doctor-prescribed treatment.”
