DJ EZ has raised over £50k for Cancer Research

The London DJ played a 24-hour set in aid of charity

At 6pm this evening Kiss FM DJ and UK garage ambassador DJ EZ finished a 24-hour-long live set in aid of Cancer Research, raising over £50k for the charity.

The Just Giving page is still open to donations, but at the time of press DJ EZ had raised £55,935.38 from 6,033 donations.

Soon after he’d finished he wrote on Facebook, “Thank you guys that was amazing!!!” There were also a few video clips from the event posted; one of the final minutes, another with two hours left to go and eight more from the entire gig.

EZ – real name Otis Roberts – has reportedly remained a non-smoking teetotal DJ, known for his extensive, technical DJ sets.

The London DJ has been at the forefront of UK garage for the last twenty years, giving the genre exposure in it’s ’90s heyday, before being an integral and respected part of it’s resurgence and influence in recent years. He has remained dedicated to his craft and holds one of the longest running radio residencies ever in the UK.

There’s still time to donate now via JUSTGIVING.COM/DJ-EZ or text DJEZ77 £ with your amount to 70070.
