TI helps to save man from suicide jump

Rapper says life can 'turn around'

TI has explained how he helped to talk a suicidal man down from jumping off the roof of a 22-storey building in Atlanta, Georgia.

The rapper, who is set to appear in court on Friday (October 15) on suspicion of possessing ecstasy, said he conversed with the unnamed man after hearing about the incident on Wednesday (13).

After hearing on local radio that the man was on the roof of the 400 Colony Square building, TI drove down and told police he would help if needed. He then recorded a video message which was played to the man, reports Ajc.com.

According to the rapper, the message stated “that I was here and I was looking forward to meeting him and that no matter what’s going on in life now, it gets better”.

The man was then convinced by police to come down. He spoke to TI for roughly five minutes, before being taken to Grady Memorial Hospital for evaluation.

“I’m not taking any credit,” the rapper added, before stressing that he does not think the incident will have any impact on his forthcoming court appearance. “I don’t expect this to have any different impact on any of my circumstances. That wasn’t my motivation.”
