Blur frontman to record song for auction winner
Damon Albarn has announced that he will record a new piece of music for the winner of a forthcoming auction for Oxfam‘s Haiti earthquake emergency response appeal.
The Blur and Gorillaz man’s offer is up for bids now on eBay. Arctic Monkeys, Coldplay, Chemical Brothers and The Magic Numbers are among the other artists to have contributed lots.
Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner has donated the Fender Stratocaster guitar he played in the music video for the band’s 2005 chart-topping single ‘I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor’ (watch it below).
The Chemical Brothers have donated a Roland drum machine, while The Magic Numbers will play an acoustic gig in the home of the highest bidder for their lot.
Glastonbury tickets and a meet and greet with Gang Of Four‘s Andy Gill are also up for grabs.
Meanwhile Radiohead are playing a one-off gig this weekend (January 24) for the appeal auctioning tickets to the Los Angeles show to the highest bidders.
