Jonas Brothers serenade Obamas at kids’ concert

Military families celebrate inauguration in Washington DC

The Jonas Brothers serenaded first lady Michelle Obama and her two daughters, Malia and Sasha, at the Kids’ Inaugural concert last night (January 19).

Teen sensation Miley Cyrus also performed at the event, ‘Kids’ Inaugural: We Are the Future’, which honoured US military families who attended the show.

Cyrus invited her father, country music singer Billy Ray Cyrus, to perform with her on stage. “You girls must be awfully proud of your dad — and so am I,” she said when introducing him.

The pop star performed her inspirational song, ‘The Climb’, for the first time, reports the Associated Press.

The Jonas Brothers invited the Obama girls on stage to dance, much to their delight.

Michelle Obama later addressed the crowd, saying, “You kids are the future of this great nation. We need every American to serve their community, including our young people.”

She went on to suggest that they do their part by volunteering, visiting the elderly or writing letters to US troops.
