Stevens' headline slot will be his first ever UK festival show
Tame Impala, Sufjan Stevens and The War On Drugs have been confirmed as headliners for this year’s End Of The Road festival.
The Wiltshire festival takes place between September 4-6 at Larmer Tree Gardens with Australian band Tame Impala set to headline the Friday night of the three-day event.
Sufjan Stevens will play his first ever UK festival show on September 5. The artist, who releases new album ‘Carrie & Lowell’ in March, has only played one festival in his career and his End Of The Road date will mark his only European live show of 2015.
‘Carrie & Lowell’ will be released on March 23 via Stevens’ own Asthmatic Kitty Records and is described as a return to his “folk roots”. The album will be the follow-up to ‘The Age Of Adz’, released in 2010. Prior to that album Stevens embarked on an ambitious plan to write and release an album representing each of the 50 US states. At present the mission has birthed two albums (‘Michigan’ and ‘Illinois’).
Fresh from the success of last year’s ‘Lost In The Dream’ album, The War On Drugs will close the festival on Sunday, September 6. Other bands and acts on the bill include Future Islands, Pond, Fat White Family, Sleaford Mods, Django Django and Natalie Prass.
