N-Dubz singer tested for swine flu

'We've no idea how she got ill,' says her manager

N-Dubz singer Tulisa Contostavlos is being tested for swine flu, her manager has confirmed.

Contostavlos, 20, became ill during a flight to Greece on Thursday (April 30).

The singer, who is currently at Number One in the UK singles chart with the Tinchy Stryder (featuring N-Dubz) song ‘Number 1’, is undergoing tests in a hospital in Athens for the virus. Her personal manager is also being tested, reports the Press Association.

N-Dubz‘ manager Jonathan Shalit said he had no idea how Contostavlos could have contracted the bug, adding that her bandmates were concerned for her health.

“She was taken ill on the flight out to Greece on Thursday,” Shalit said. “Her bandmates are all very worried about her. They’ve just completed a massive nationwide tour. We’ve no idea how she got ill but the nature of being a singer is that you meet and shake hands with a huge amount of people.”

The hip hop trio are set to play at Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Swindon next Sunday (May 10), although if Contostavlos is confirmed to have swine flu it is unlikely she will appear at the event.
