‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’ to be remade by MTV

Get set to do the 'Time Warp' again

Classic music film ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’ is being remade.

The original film, released in 1975, starred Meat Loaf, Tim Curry and Susan Sarandon, and featured songs such as ‘The Time Warp’.

BBC News reports that MTV in the US and Sky Movies in the UK are set to co-finance the project, and original ‘Rocky Horror’ creator Richard O’Brien – formerly a presenter of ‘The Crystal Maze’ – will co-produce the new version.

Based on O’Brian‘s 1973 British stage production of ‘The Rocky Horror Show’, the film’s plot focuses on a young couple who accidentally get caught up in the surreal world of a flamboyant transvestite called Dr Frank-N-Furter.

Traditionally, audiences for both the screen and stage version of the show dress up in garish costumes similar to those of the characters.

The cast for the remake is currently unknown.
