Future responds to Ciara’s £10.4million defamation lawsuit

According to reports, the rapper thinks it's "absurd" since she's also trash talked him

Future has responded to ex-fiancée Ciara’s £10.4million ($15m) lawsuit against him, with reports stating the rapper thinks her claims are “absurd”.

Ciara’s lawsuit alleges Future, real name is Nayvadius Cash, slandered and libelled the singer in a series of tweets and interviews.

According to TMZ, Ciara has cited several interviews and tweets in which Future appears to challenge her skills as a mother.

There is also a dispute over claims regarding the rapper’s access to their son, who is also named Future.

Sources close to Future Sr. have since told TMZ that he “thinks it’s absurd his baby mama filed the slander suit, since she’s talked plenty of trash on him”.

The insider adds that Future believes Ciara’s 2015 song ‘I Bet’ makes reference to rumours that he cheated on her, with lyrics including: “You know that it hurts your pride but you thought the grass was greener on the other side. I bet you start loving me as soon as I start loving someone else. Somebody better than you.”

TMZ’s source goes on to suggest that Future himself could have sued Ciara over the track, but “didn’t want to be petty”, adding that the star himself is “considering” firing back at Ciara with his own lawsuit.

Despite the reports, it’s thought that Future is yet to see Ciara’s papers, with his team claiming the process server at LAX failed to deliver the documents.

The couple called time on their engagement in August 2014, just three months after welcoming their son, with Ciara now dating NFL star, Russell Wilson.
