Rapper arrested after showing police his mixtape instead of driving licence

The incident took place in Delray Beach, Florida

An amateur rapper was arrested in the US after he allegedly offered police officers his mixtape as proof of identification, rather than the driving licence they asked for.

Local Florida newspaper The Sun-Sentinel reports that Volvique Louis Jean Jr, 18, was pulled over by police on suspicion of reckless driving near Atlantic Community High School in Delray Beach last Wednesday (January 13).

Jean has been accused of speeding “into the school’s bus loop, narrowly missing students being dismissed from school”, according to The Sun-Sentinel.

The arrest report states that the vehicle caused three other cars to stop when it pulled into the middle of the road and almost hit other students as Jean tried to leave the scene.

Jean is then believed to have been asked for his driving licence by officers but instead offered them his homemade rap CD instead.

After being arrested by the Palm Beach County School District Police, the teen was charged with fleeing and eluding, reckless driving, driving with a suspended licence and trespassing on school grounds.

Jean has been released on bail.
