Another 'great retro anthem' will take their place
Cadbury have revealed that their new advert will not feature a Phil Collins song as its soundtrack.
The singing drummer’s 1981 single ‘In The Air Tonight’ was used in the company’s popular 2007 advert, which featured a gorilla performing the famous drum part to the song.
However, Cadbury‘s new advert will stick with the soft rock theme with a new song yet to be confirmed – they have revealed it will not be by Phil Collins, though.
Nor will the musical gorilla be returning, with the new advert (airing from this Saturday, March 29) instead featuring an animated airport luggage truck as its central character.
Spokesperson for Cadbury, Tony Bilsborough, said: “Phil Collins fans will be disappointed to hear that we haven’t plumped for another of his tracks, but we can say it’s another great retro anthem.”
The company’s previous advert is thought to be responsible for a 5 per cent rise in sales last year.
