Reports from the US indicate that Suge Knight will leave prison very soon...

DEATH ROW RECORDS founder and figurehead MARION ‘SUGE’ KNIGHT will be freed on August 9 after serving half his nine-year sentence for parole violation, according to reports from the US.

The label boss will walk to freedom from Mule Creek State Prison in Ione, California where he has been held since April, when he was moved from a federal jail in Sheridan, Oregon.

The label chief was jailed in 1996 for a parole violation. He had been on probation since 1992, when he was convicted of attacking two rappers in a studio.

During a recent interview from prison, Knight said he was eager, on his release, to pick up where he left off.

“The past is the past, and one thing about Death Row Records is it’s youthful,” he said. “The plan is to move forward and give opportunities and deals to those young artists out there… My plan is just to come out and do positive things but to have fun with it – really go back to the hard-working days of putting out great records and movies.”
