NME.COM added to an already bulging trophy cabinet when ANTHONY THORNTON was crowned EDITOR OF THE YEAR (ONLINE MAGAZINE) for the second successive year at the BSME (BRITISH SOCIETY OF MAGAZINE EDITORS) annual ceremony in LONDON on Monday night (November 25).
The award, presented at the Hilton Hotel, comes hot on the heels of the site’s triple triumph at last month’s (October 9) PPAi awards – considered to be the Internet Oscars for the UK.
Thornton said: “It’s a great pleasure to pick this award up for the second year in a row. It’s been quite a year for us at NME.COM with a bunch of other awards, each of them goes to underline the peerless team here at NME.COM.”
Other awards NME>COM have claimed in the last few years include: Website of The Year (1999 & 2001), Internet Magazine’s Best Music Content, Webuser’s Best Music Site, and the only music news site in .net’s 100 Sites That Changed The Web.
