Awww, stop it you’re making us blush…

NME.COM has been named one of the 100 SITES THAT CHANGED THE WEB in a new survey by an influential internet magazine.

The survey conducted in the 100 issue of .net magazine puts NME.COM in the same league as some of the great websites including Napster, Amazon, eBay, Hotmail and Google.

The other music sites in the list are Napster, Gnutella,  MP3.com, Real.com and Windows Media.

The magazine states simply: “It’s site goes from strength to strength and shows other music sites how it should be done.”

Anthony Thornton, Editor of NME.COM says: “It’s fantastic to be recognised for the work that the team at NME.COM has done. I’ve been here since 1998 and seen other sites come and go – thinking they were going to make huge profits by pulling one over music fans. We’ve always put music fans first and it’s great to receive a nod in such an important survey.”

Recently NME.COM has been awarded Website of the Year in the magazine industry awards twice (1999 and 2001) and editor Anthony Thornton was named Online Editor Of The Year at the BSME Awards in November 2001.
