Ex-FACTORY RECORDS boss TONY WILSON has been declared bankrupt, but is claiming it is all a mistake.
Wilson, whose Factory label launched Happy Mondays and [url=]New Order, is due in court in at the end of the week in an attempt to get the judgement overturned.
He told the Manchester Evening News: “It’s all been one big clerical cock-up and I’m going back to court to have it annulled. I’m very annoyed by the whole situation and I don’t know what the Inland Revenue has been up to. I’m actually in the most solvent financial position I’ve been in for years right now.”
A spokeswoman for Manchester County Court told the paper that Wilson was adjudged bankrupt on September 13 after a hearing at the London Royal Courts of Justice.
Wilson was the focus of the Michael Winterbottom film ’24 Hour Party People’, starring Steve Coogan. He currently works for Granada News.
