Mick Rock's snaps are collected together under the title 'Blood & Glitter'...

Classic photographs of DAVID BOWIE, LOU REED, DEBBIE HARRY, IGGY POP and QUEEN are all featured in BLOOD & GLITTER, a new photographic exhibition of the work of music snapper MICK ROCK which opened in LONDON last night (April 4).

The exhibition, housed at the Proud Gallery, chronicles the development of the artists during the early glam era. Particularly in evidence are pictures of Bowie through his ”Ziggy Stardust…’ period. Rock was essentially Bowie’s official photographer of the time. Amongst the many highlights on show is the iconoclastic photo of Iggy Pop that is used as the cover for The Stooges’ ‘Raw Power’ album. The picture was taken during the band’s brief, legendary show in London in 1972, their only ever UK gig.

Also on view are some rare photographs of Syd Barrett and Rock’s new muse Kate Moss.
