The DJ gets ready to issue his first album under the alias he sometimes uses - and it's set to be a pretty eclectic mix...
JUDGE JULES has spoken about his debut artist album under the name HI-GATE, the alias he uses with recording partner PAUL ‘YOMANDA’ MASTERSON.
Hi-Gate have already delivered two hit singles – ‘Caned and Unable’ and ‘Pitchin” – and are expected to release the as yet untitled album through ‘Incentive’ by the end of the year. According to Jules, it’s going to be a more eclectic collection than the dancefloor pop of the singles.
“Musically it’s going to be right across the board,” admitted Jules to Muzik Weekly. “The first side will be very club-orientated and the second half will be a downbeat, chillout mix. I’m very keen on both styles.”
His first-ever artist album, the collection will be preceeded by a single ‘Work It Out’ in mid-March.
He continued, “I don’t give a damn if it doesn’t sell a single copy as long as I’m proud of what I’ve done in ten years time.”
The former law student has also confirmed that he’ll return to Eden in Ibiza this summer for another season of Judgement Sunday. “It’ll be me, Ferry Corsten and my new resident Lisa Lashes,” he revealed. “I’m also doing a lot of stuff at Code, Golden at the Manchester Academy and Tall Trees in Yarm.”
