All three festivals have confirmed their dates for this summer...
CREAMFIELDS, ESSENTIAL and the RADIO 1 LOVE PARADE have all confirmed their dates for 2001.
The Radio 1 Love Parade, which last year took place at Roundhay Park in Leeds, has been confirmed for July 21, though the location and DJ line-up remains unspecified at present.
Essential, which ran over two days last year, has confirmed that it will be running over three days in 2001, as it previously did in 1997. Running from July 13-15 at Stanmer Park in Brighton, the Friday will be ‘Rock Day’, Saturday the ‘Dance Day’ and Sunday the ‘Roots Day’. A full line-up is expected to be announced in the next couple of weeks.
Creamfields, meanwhile, will be taking place for the third year running over the August Bank Holiday weekend. Occupying the Old Speke Airfield in Liverpool once again, the event has been confirmed for August 25.
Finally, rumours that Ministry Of Sound are due to hold a festival at Knebworth over the weekend during which Glastonbury was to have been held (June 22-24) remain unconfirmed, although NME.COM understands that the club are due to make an imminent announcement.
