Their design has been inspired by the actor's love of the Chicago Cubs baseball team
Bill Murray will release a new line of golf clothes next month.
The actor, who memorably starred in the golf-themed Caddyshack film, has ventured out on this new enterprise by collaborating with his brothers – including Joel, who is CEO of Murray Bros. Golf – for the clothing line.
As reported by The Chicago Tribune, Murray’s love of the Chicago Cubs baseball team has served as the major inspiration behind the design of the new line – despite the fact that the clothes have been designed to be worn on the golf course, rather than at the ballpark.
Murray’s brother Joel has spoken about the launch of the new apparel, saying that he hopes younger people will become more involved in golf as the new clothing line provides them with “fun stuff to wear” on the course. The full line will go on sale on Murray’s golf website, William Murray Golf, on October 20.
To celebrate Murray’s 66th birthday yesterday (September 21), the first items from the line went on sale on the site: a blue pin-striped polo shirt (priced at $75), and a blue hat that’s been emblazoned with the ‘William Murray’ logo on the front ($32). Both items are still available to purchase through the William Murray site, and all proceeds will go to the Mercy Home for Boys & Girls in Chicago.
