MØ lets loose in dystopian-themed video for ‘Kamikaze’ – watch

Video for Danish artist's new single was filmed in Ukraine

MØ has released new video for single ‘Kamikaze’. Scroll down to watch the video now.

The song is another collaborative effort with Major Lazer producer Diplo and is the follow up to her work on this summer’s ‘Lean On’. MØ and Diplo have also worked together on previous track ‘XXX 88’ from her 2014 debut ‘No Mythologies To Follow’ and a cover of Frank Oceans 2012 track ‘Lost’.

Shot in Kiev, Ukraine the video see’s Danish born Karen Marie Orsted in bejeweled clothing rolling around a dirty car park, standing on sofas and cars with white horses and channeling Mad Max: Fury Road on the highway. The video also of course features a portrait of Kim Kardashian dressed as a saint on the wall.

Discussing the new track with Annie Mac, MØ shared an insight into the time spent in the studio with Diplo. “It’s always such a fun and open process,” she revealed, “It’s not all about making a hit record, more that we have fun together.”

She went on to say that the thinking behind ‘Kamikaze’ was to make “pop music that wants to push boundaries” and added that “pop needs to bring something new to the table, it needs balls”.
