One Direction and Mumford & Sons will also appear at this year's ceremony
One Direction, Ellie Goulding, Little Mix and Mumford & Sons will all perform live at the second BBC Music Awards later this year.
The ceremony takes place in December at Birmingham’s Genting Arena and will be hosted by Fearne Cotton and Radio 2 DJ Chris Evans. Hozier, Jess Glynne and OMI will also appear on the bill.
Nominees for the awards are yet to be revealed but will be made public before the December 10 ceremony. This year’s BBC Music Awards will be broadcast on Radio 1 and 2 and also screened on BBC One.
Host Chris Evans says: “We had such a blast last year so I can’t wait to get back on stage and relive this amazing musical year of 2015.”
A week of live gigs will take place across Birmingham in the week of the awards, with the BBC promising to “showcase local talent” alongside the more established artists.
The first BBC Music Awards were held in 2014 at London’s Earls Court and saw Pharrell Williams collect two of the four awards on the night. Despite not attending the ceremony, he was named best international artist and picked up song of the year for ‘Happy’.
Catfish And The Bottlemen won BBC Introducing award for best new act. New for 2015 will be the Best live performance award, which will go to the band or artist who has delivered “the stand out live moment” on the BBC in the last year.
