Haim, Gerard Way and Pearl Jam songs added to new ‘Guitar Hero Live’ game

Wavves, Surfer Blood and more also confirmed

New songs have been added to the playable soundtrack for the latest game in the Guitar Hero video game franchise, Guitar Hero Live.

The guitar-based game will be released on Xbox One and 360, Playstation 3 and 4, Nintendo Wii U, and mobile platforms on October 23, following on from Guitar Hero: Warriors Of Rock in 2010.

It’s now been announced that the new game will feature playable songs from Pearl Jam, Gerard Way, Haim, Wavves, Surfer Blood, Lamb Of God, Passenger and others.

It had already been confirmed that tracks by Alt-J, Ed Sheeran, The Black Keys, The Killers, Green Day, Fall Out Boy, The War On Drugs, The Rolling Stones, Skrillex, Weezer, Catfish And The Bottlemen and more will be included.

Jamie Jackson of FreeStyle said of the game’s music choices: “It’s been 10 years since the first Guitar Hero game came out. When you think of it like that, and think about how much the musical landscape has changed since then – that’s where we’ve been able to explore some new types of musical style as well. Guitar music is broader than it’s ever been – so we’re reflecting that in the range of music on offer.”
