Gwyneth Paltrow pays homage to Biggie and Tupac by designing £1,000 rap-themed purses

The handbags also feature the names of Jay Z and Eminem

Actress Gwyneth Paltrow has released a series of rap-themed purses via her Goop lifestyle magazine and fashion company.

The clutch bags, which you can see below, are priced at $1,695 (£1,000) and pay homage to hip-hop stars such as Jay Z, Eminem, Tupac Shakur and Biggie Smalls.

The bags are inscribed with the nicknames of each of the rappers: ‘Hov’, ‘Shady’, ‘Pac’ and ‘Biggie’ respectively.

Appearing on The Graham Norton Show in 2011, Paltrow rapped Ice Cube’s verse from NWA’s ‘Straight Outta Compton’. Watch that beneath.

Earlier this year, Paltrow filed for divorce from Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.

The couple originally announced their split in March 2014, having been married for over 10 years. However, Paltrow’s divorce papers claim that the pair had been separated from as far back as May 2013.

Paltrow cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reasoning for their split and is seeking joint custody of their two children, Apple and Moses.

The couple originally broke the news online in March 2014, famously labelling their split as a ‘conscious uncoupling’.
