London band Hunck to play Reading Festival after winning Relentless Here To Be Heard competition

The contest was judged by Manchester's Everything Everything

London band Hunck will perform at this year’s Reading Festival following the Relentless ‘Here To Be Heard’ competition.

The campaign, now in its third year, is all about showcasing the best new music and highlighting it to a bigger audience. The band category was judged by Everything Everything, with Modestep leading the search for new DJs.

Hunck formed last year, with their sound described as “slacker rock and dream pop”. The band featured in NME‘s Playlist Of The Week last April.

The band said of the win: “We’re here and we’ve been heard and it feels just great – thank you Everything Everything, Relentless and everyone who voted to put 5 Huncks on the stage at Reading Festival.”

The Libertines were recently announced as the third and final headliners for this year’s Reading and Leeds festival.

The band join Metallica and Mumford and Sons at the top of the bills for the events, which take place from August 28 – 30 across the two sites.
