‘Gangnam Style’ singer Psy crashes car into bus in China

The incident took place in Hangzhou, eastern China on Thursday (July 16)

K-Pop singer Psy has been involved in a car accident in China, reports say.

The star, best known for his massive-selling hit ‘Gangnam Style’, was reportedly in a red Rolls Royce when the car crashed into a bus in Hangzhou, eastern China on Thursday (July 16).

The incident allegedly occurred at 3pm local time, taking place at an intersection, according to Chinese news source The People’s Daily Online.

It is not known whether or not Psy was driving his car, but The Daily Mail reports that both parties involved are settling compensation and repairs privately.

The video for Psy’s hit ‘Gangnam Style’, first uploaded to Youtube in July 2012, has been viewed online over 2,000,000,000 times.

Speaking in May 2013, Psy told students at Harvard University in Boston that the viral success of his video was an accident. “‘Gangnam Style’ was not normal,” he said.

“‘Gangnam’ was not standard – that was an accident and accidents don’t happen often.” Psy also admitted he has no expectations of matching its success ever again.

Psy also spoke at the world-famous Oxford Union, telling students he “stayed up for 30 nights to find that horse-riding dance” for the ‘Gangnam Style’ video.
