They needed someone posh to open the posh shop...
VICTORIA BECKHAM officially opened the HARRODS sale in London this morning (January 2).
The sometime Spice Girl arrived at the Knightsbridge store in a horse-drawn carriage led by bagpipers. She was joined in the carriage by six-year-old Kirsty Howard, from Manchester, who was born with a rare condition that means her heart is back to front. “Kirsty said she wanted to come shopping and I thought what better way to do that than to come to the Harrods’ sale,” she said.
Beckham presented Kirsty with the traditional £20,000 cheque from Harrods to be given to the Francis House Hospice in Manchester, where the six-year-old is a regular resident.
Throughout the day, a number of charities will receive a percentage of Harrods takings.
