Beyoncé made history at the event, by becoming the first black woman to headline the festival. She was joined by husband Jay-Z, sister Solange, and reunited with Destiny’s Child at various points in the set.
During Beyoncé’s day-closing set at the California festival, Adele shared three videos on her Instagram page of her reaction to the appearance. In the first, captioned “Mood 1 #Beychella”, she danced around with a trumpet.
In the second, she twerked at the camera, with Beyoncé’s set showing on the TV behind her. The third showed Adele whipping her hair furiously. Watch all three videos below.
Adele wasn’t the one star tuned into Beyoncé’s history-making headline performance. “I just saw the greatest show to ever happen,” tweeted Chance The Rapper. “How. In. The. Fuh. Did. She. Pull. That. “I’m so happy right now,” Beyoncé told the crowd as her Destiny’s Child bandmates Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland joined her onstage towards the end of her set. Together, the trio performed a medley of their hits ‘Say My Name’, ‘Soldier’, and ‘Lose My Breath’.
