Arctic Monkeys made their return to TV last night, as they performed on ‘Jimmy Fallon Live!’
The Sheffield icons played ‘Four Out Of Five’, taken from newly released album ‘Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino’. Check out the performance below.
The album is the first offering from Arctic Monkeys’ since 2013’s ‘A.M’ and it’s received a string of growing reviews.
“This is the Arctic Monkeys like you’ve never heard them before. If you’re here looking for banging festival-sized anthems, you’ll be sorely let down. But if you want the goss on what is undoubtedly the band’s most intriguing record to date, step right this way”, NME’s official verdict stated.
“At first it’s completely overwhelming – you’ll be trying to connect the scattered dots on this initially impenetrable listen, and maybe even despairing when it doesn’t all come together. But when the constellations show through, you’ll realise that it’s a product of searingly intelligent design.”
Recently, Turner opened up on the record’s creation in an interview with BBC Radio 1, admitting that he was embarrassed by some of the band’s earlier lyrics.
“I think sometimes that can be helpful. In preparation for going on tour, we flicked through some of our old records,” he said.
“There were a few lyrics that went by where I thought [wincing noise], ‘Don’t know what you were thinking there. Probably leave that one out now.’
