The Australian band topped the bill at the Californian festival on day two of the second edition of the year, following performances from the likes of Billie Eilish, Weezer, Little Simz, and Kid Cudi.
Rocky performed two tracks with the group – ‘Sundress’, which samples their 2010 track ‘Why Won’t You Make Up Your Mind’, and ‘LSD’, from his own ‘At.Long.Last.A$AP’ album. You can watch fan-shot footage of the surprise appearance below.
Elsewhere in the set, Tame Impala also played their two latest tracks, ‘Patience’ and ‘Borderline’.
Reviewing ‘Patience’ upon its release last month, NME wrote: “Despite the vintage influences – traces of The Temptations, Todd Rundgren, The Trammps, and even slight hints of ABBA all linger at the heart of ‘Patience’ – Tame Impala’s abandoned dance floor still looks forward; Parker’s crystal clear production pulls it into the 21st Century.”
Meanwhile, Tame Impala are due to embark on a short tour of the UK and Ireland in June, ahead of an appearance at Glastonbury Festival.
Tame Impala will play:
8 – London, The O2
24 – Blackpool, Empress Ballroom
26 – Dublin, 3Arena
Last year, Rocky collaborated with Tyler, The Creator on a new song called ‘Potato Salad’. A video for the track featured both rappers alongside Jaden Smith.
