Watch as couple get engaged during Skrillex festival set

The EDM star was performing at Your Paradise festival in Fiji

A couple got engaged during Skrillex’s set at Your Paradise festival in Fiji last week.

The event, which ran from December 10-16, saw the EDM star bring his set to Malolo Lailai island. During his performance, the DJ spoke to the crowd, telling them he wanted to “celebrate love to the fullest”.

He then introduced a “special friend” called Malcolm, who invited his girlfriend Jess to the stage. As she made her way to the front, Skrillex led the crowd in chanting her name.

Once on stage, Skrillex told the audience to be quiet and Malcolm got down on one knee and proposed. After Jess had accepted, the DJ shook both of their hands and told them to do a “double crowdsurf when this shit drops”.

It was recently reported that Skrillex has been recording new music with his old band, From First To Last.

The producer, AKA Sonny John Moore, first embarked on his career in music when he joined the Arizona-based band as lead vocalist in 2004. Moore left the band in 2007 after sustaining vocal cord damage that required surgery, which led to the now-28-year-old going solo as Skrillex.

From First To Last reformed in 2013 after a three-year hiatus, and are currently working on their sixth album. As Dancing Astronaut reports, Skrillex first previewed a previously-unheard collaboration with his old band back in July on his Beats 1 show. Video has now emerged on Reddit that purportedly shows Skrillex in the studio with the band.
