Dave Grohl gave the young fan his guitar after an epic performance
Foo Fighters treated fans in Kansas City, Missouri, to a cover of Metallica’s ‘Enter Sandman’ on Friday Night (12 October.)
But the cover had a bit of a twist – as Dave Grohl and co invited a 10-year-old fan up onstage to help play guitar on the track.
Fan filmed footage showed Grohl ask the youngster – named Collier – if he knows how to play guitar. When he responds “yes”, the Foos frontman then asked “What do you know?” To which Collier replies “I know a lot of Metallica songs.”
With that, the kid breaks into the opening riff of ‘Enter Sandman’ and Grohl and the rest of the Foos join in.
You can watch footage of the moment below.
Cutting the band off mid-song, Grohl went on to ask whether the fan knew anything else, to which he responded by launching into Metallica’s ‘Welcome Home (Sanitarium).’
Later in the set, Grohl joked about Ed Sheeran’s show in the same city that night, saying: “He ain’t got nothing on Collier.”
Grohl then gifted the young fan with his own guitar, joking that as the Foo’s tour is nearly over, he may as well have it, before adding: “If I see that shit on eBay next week, I’m gonna find you, Collier.”
The frontman recently revealed his pre-show drinking ritual, while also admitting the band have been approached several times to play the Superbowl half time show.
