Kurt performed with The Violaters
Kurt Vile has performed ‘Loading Zones’ from his latest album, ‘Bottle It In’ on the Jimmy Kimmel Live! show.
Featuring a lengthy guitar solo, Vile performed alongside the Violators on the show. In a 4 star review of ‘Bottle It In’, which was released earlier this year, NME wrote: “The mellow master’s seventh studio album is an expansive odyssey that proves he’s an idiosyncratic one-off.”

‘Loading Zones’ was Vile’s first solo material release since 2015’s ‘b’lieve I’m goin down…’, and his first piece of new music since his collaborative album with Courtney Barnett, ‘Lotta Sea Lice’, which came out last year.
Speaking to NME earlier this year, Vile talked about making his latest album whilst travelling around the US on tour. “[I thought] since I’m out there travelling anyway, I [might as well] throw in the studio; I was a little more savvy this time with combining more things at once.
“So, it’s just more of natural thing where I can involve my family if I want, and also have some time to get head space. More vision, fewer things blocking your periphery.”
Vile also said that he is ready to delve into his own, Neil Young-like archive soon. Vile said: “I’m really excited to delve into my archive soon – sort of inspired by Neil Young’s archive – except it won’t be available to the public, just for myself, so I can just kind of look at it chronologically.
“But every record has a lost EP in there; the last two records in particular I’ve been sitting on all that stuff. This [unreleased] one, is ready to go, but I’m an obsessive person so I’ll tweak it before I release it. There’s definitely an album-plus worth of material. I’ll put it out at some point – I’m not chomping at the bit to put it out because let them focus on this record first!”
