The ‘Juice’ singer started the #FluteAndShoot social media challenge last year, which Will Ferrell – in character of Ron Burgundy – responded to with his own performance. Lizzo posted the clip to Instagram, along with the caption: “YOU’RE GOIN DOWN, BURGUNDY!!!”
Putting her fighting talk into action, the star has now shared her impressive comeback – a shot-by-shot new version of the iconic Anchorman flute scene.
During the clip, titled ‘The Legend of LIZZO’, we see the singer joined by Haim bass player Este in a dimly-lit jazz bar. After being asked to treat the crowd to a slice of her jazz flute skills, Lizzo takes to the stage.
You can check out the original scene along with Ron Burgundy’s #FluteAndShoot submission below.
Asked about her plans for 2019 at last month’s BRIT Awards, Lizzo told NME: “I just have a shit tonne of shows and festivals. I’m coming back to London and Manchester. I’m doing Lovebox Festival and Glastonbury but I don’t think that’s announced so, whatever – you just got the scoop, bitch.”
She continued: “I’m going to be everywhere. The tour has sold out already so bring it on.”
In other news, the US artist has offered up a rendition of Mark Ronson and Miley Cyrus’ ‘Nothing Breaks Like A Heart’. The cover of the country-pop collaboration was performed during her appearance in Radio 1’s Live Lounge.
Lizzo’s upcoming third album, ‘Cuz I Love You’, is out on April 19.
