Meanwhile, Obama has discussed her love of Beyoncé many times in the past, including while her husband was in office. Last year, she revealed her favourite song from 2016’s ‘Lemonade’, after initially saying “all of them” were her favourites. When pressed to give an answer, Obama chose ‘Love Drought’.
In a 2016 interview, the former FLOTUS praised the star, saying: “She’s a sweetheart. She’s smart, she’s creative, she’s a great mother. She loves her family.”
She added that she and her youngest daughter Sasha would get annoyed when elder daughter Malia asked Barack about serious issues at the dinner table. “We just want to talk about our favourite song on the ‘Lemonade’ album,” she said. “He doesn’t want to go there.”
