Watch The National’s ballet-inspired video for ‘Dark Side Of The Gym’

New York City Ballet choreographer Justin Peck directed and stars in the clip for the 'Sleep Well Beast' track

The National have shared a new video for ‘Dark Side Gym’, which is taken from their latest album, ‘Sleep Well Beast‘.

The band released their seventh album earlier this year. In a four-star review, NME said: “It’s all very 2017. And it’s an album on which Matt Berninger, Aaron and Bryce Dessner, and Bryan and Scott Devendorf stray outside the previously clearly defined lines of what The National sound is.”

The clip for ‘Dark Side Of The Gym’ was directed by New York City Ballet’s resident choreographer Justin Peck, who also stars in the video. Dancer Patricia Delgado also appears alongside him as they dance through a school gym filled with balloons.

Meanwhile, The National recently covered a track from Bob’s Burgers to celebrate Thanksgiving.

The Ohio-formed band have a long-running history with the show. In 2016, frontman Matt Berninger sang Bob’s part for a musical number called ‘Bad Stuff Happens in the Bathroom’ in the episode Glued, Where’s My Bob?

They’ve also appeared in the show’s animated music videos, although they’ve yet to appear in a specific episode. In 2015, they were due to cover ‘Thanksgiving for Everybody (Except for Europeans)’, but the release was later cancelled due to the Paris terror attacks.
