Watch The National’s mind-bending new video for ‘Sleep Well Beast’

It's an ethereal trip...

The National have revealed the new video for ‘Sleep Well Beast’, and it’s a mind-bending technicolor trip that follows the band through a series of different locations. Check it out below.

The song is the sixth single to be taken from their album of the same name, and has been accompanied by a clip that sees the Ohio band travelling to several different places – with the scene shot in a succession of dark red and moody blue hues.

It’s also the fifth video from the album to be directed by Casey Reas, after previously creating the visuals for songs including ‘The System Only Dreams In Total Darkness’.

It follows the release of ‘Dark Side Of The Gym’, The National’s ballet inspired video which was directed by renowned choreographer Justin Peck.

The National also  recently covered a track from Bob’s Burgers to celebrate Thanksgiving.

“>The Ohio band have a long-running history with the show. In 2016, frontman Matt Berninger sang Bob’s part for a musical number called ‘Bad Stuff Happens in the Bathroom’ in the episode Glued, Where’s My Bob?

They’ve also appeared in the show’s animated music videos, although they’ve yet to appear in a specific episode. In 2015, they were due to cover ‘Thanksgiving for Everybody (Except for Europeans)’, but the release was later cancelled due to the Paris terror attacks.
