Pixies has shared a new video for their song ‘Classic Masher’.
The track is the fourth to be taken from their September album ‘Head Carrier’, and follows first single ‘Um Chagga Lagga’ in being given the video treatment recently by the band.
The video for ‘Classic Masher’, which was directed by Pixies bassist Paz Lenchantin, was made using stop-motion, and features three women singing along to the song in a car as a pianist – who, as Rolling Stone reports, is played by Lenchantin’s father Mario Merdirossian – plays his instrument wildly.
In an accompanying statement, Lenchantin shared a few words about his creative process in making the video. “Mephistopheles, the mocking and sarcastic devil behind every classic masher … Besides that, who doesn’t like a talking piano?”
