At recent shows, Rostam has chosen to cover classic tracks including ‘Like A Rolling Stone’ and ‘Pink Moon,’ but now it seems as though the artist has more of his own songs in the works.

In 2016, the songwriter shared an iPhone note confirming that he was leaving Vampire Weekend to pursue a solo career.

He wrote: “My identity as a songwriter and producer needs to stand on its own.”

Despite Rostam officially leaving the group in January 2016, Vampire Weekend’s Ezra Koenig has previously confirmed that the multi-instrumentalist will feature on the band’s upcoming record.

Speaking of the producer’s return to Entertainment Weekly, Koenig said: “We’re working on some songs in the exact same way we’ve always worked. We have some stuff that we started a pretty long time ago.”

Vampire Weekend released their last album, ‘Modern Vampires of the City’ in 2013. Previously, Koenig has teased that the album is 80% done and even has a working title, Mitsubishi Macchiato, but they are yet to confirm an exact release date.
