Watch SZA cover Sixpence None The Richer’s ‘Kiss Me’

What a dream.

SZA performed Sixpence None The Richer’s ‘Kiss Me’ to a crowd at festival in Florida.

‘The Weekend’ singer treated fans to a rendition of the American band’s 1998 hit at Miami’s Ill Point Music Festival yesterday (February 17).

“That song just makes me happy as fuck and I really wish it was ’98 right now,” SZA told the audience.

‘Kiss Me’, which reached Number One in the US singles chart that year, has been covered by numerous acts including Avril Lavigne and New Found Glory, among others.

One Twitter user responded to a clip of the cover with: “CRYINGGGGGG”, while another claimed that SZA revealed that “she’s halfway done” with her new album.

SZA is nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song with Kendrick Lamar for ‘All The Stars’, their Black Panther soundtrack collaboration.

Elsewhere, SZA herself has been the subject of cover music in recent weeks. Frank Ocean teased a cover of the singer’s track ‘The Weekend’ by posting a snippet of his recorded version of the song playing out of a car stereo.
