Thom Yorke has debuted a new solo track called ‘Gawpers’ at the first in a series of special live shows with Minimalist Dream House.
The Radiohead frontman performed Katia and Marielle Labeque at Philharmonie de Paris on Sunday night, his first appearance in support of new classical composition ‘Don’t Fear The Light’.
While the show saw Yorke performing the titular track, he also debuted solo effort ‘Gawpers’ for the first time.
The subdued effort is easily one of Yorke’s most haunting tracks to date, with his vocals only supported by Minimalist Dream House’s Labèque sisters on piano.
“Let the demons out your head, Let the demons out your head,” sings Yorke on the new offering.
“How they grow, How they stare, How they go.”
The show also saw performances from The National’s Bryce Dessner, who released his debut solo album ‘El Chan’ last Friday (April 5).
The four date tour will now head to the Auditorium de Lyon in Lyon tonight before stop-offs at the Barbican in London on April 9, and Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie on April 10.
In 2018, Yorke debuted his first ever film score for Luca Guadagnino’s Suspiria remake.
Meanwhile, The National’s new album, ‘I Am Easy To Find’, is released on May 17.
