We Are Scientists to play three secret shows

The trio are billed as Beat Up Old Fellas

We Are Scientists are set to play three secret shows in the New York area next week, under the guise of Beat Up Old Fellas. The band chose the name after a toss up between that and Bikinis, Beer and Beach BALLZ.

The trio will play shows in Brooklyn, New York City and Hoboken opening for Snowden, The Spinto Band and The Long Blondes.

They changed their name for the shows in order to test run their new album live and will not be playing any songs from ‘With Love And Squalor’. “It’s a good way to see The Long Blondes for free” Keith Murray told NME.COM. “And we don’t want people to come and ask for ‘Nobody Move’“.

We Are Scientists will begin recording their second album with Ariel Rechtshaid in California on June 11. “We’re doing drums in LA and the rest in SauselitoMurray revealed.

Beat Up Old Fellas will play:

Brooklyn, NY Luna Lounge (June 6) (w/ The Long Blondes)

Hoboken, NJ Maxwell’s (8) (w/ Snowden)

New York, NY Mercury Lounge (9) (w/ The Spinto Band)

We Are Scientists will play the free Siren music festival on July 21 at Coney Island.
