LadBaby have claimed the official Christmas no.1 slot for 2018 – and it’s all for a good cause

LadBaby are giving all the profits from the sales to food bank charity, The Trussell Trust

LadBaby have claimed the Official Christmas Number 1 single with ‘We Built This City’ beating Ava Max and Ariana Grande to the top spot.

YouTube star and dad blogger Mark Hoyle together with his wife Roxanne and their two sons recorded their own version of Starship’s 1985 hit, ‘We Built This City’, as an ode to sausage rolls – rather than rock and roll. All proceeds from the single will go to food bank charity The Trussell Trust.

After leading the way at the midweek stage, US singer Ava Max’s ‘Sweet But Psycho’ has to settle for Number 2, while last week’s chart-topper ‘thank u, next’ by Ariana Grande is at Number 3.

Speaking about the news, LadyBaby said: Thank you everybody in the UK who has got a sausage roll to the top. I can’t thank you enough not only for downloading the song but for raising money for such an incredible charity.”

I’m honestly speechless and lost for words. Thank you so much. YES MAAATE!”

To reach the top spot, ‘We Built This City’ solo 75,000 combined sales and despite being closely run all week, it finished 18,500 sales ahead of the competition after a late last-minute push.
